Formology Lab

First Run is the small-batch programme of Formology Lab, a skincare and personal care manufacturer in Chatsworth, California. Over 20 years of experience manufacturing skincare products made in California — formulation, filling, packaging and regulatory all under one roof. Your product is made on the same lines, by the same chemists, as the established brands Formology already manufactures for.

  • Over 20 years of manufacturing experience
  • Made in California, not overseas
  • FDA-registered · cGMP
  • Formulation to fill, all in house

Sunscreen and acne products are drugs in the US. They are made in a registered drug facility under the OTC monographs, tested for SPF, and listed with FDA. That is why they are on the Launch run and not the First run.

How it works

Ten minutes on the form. A same-day answer from the lab.

Tell us the product

Category, texture, hero ingredient, the look you want, and roughly how many you sell a month.

Same-day answer

A price, a timeline and a yes or no. Not a sales call. We say no when the quantity, claim or ingredient does not fit.

Sample in 7 days

Two rounds of adjustment included. You approve the formula and the artwork.

We make it

Filling, printing, cartons, stability and safety testing, MoCRA listing. Shelf-ready product in Los Angeles or shipped to your 3PL.

The next run is quoted

Your delivery comes with a production quote and a capacity hold for the reorder, so selling out is a good day, not a crisis.

Why the bottle matters

Printed on the glass, not stuck on.

A printed bottle and a labelled bottle cost about the same to fill. They do not look the same on camera. Every unit that leaves here is printed on the glass or the tube, so the thing your audience holds up looks like a brand, not a batch.

What we don't do

  • Fewer than 1,000 units per product. Below that, a stock-formula platform with a label will serve you better and faster.
  • Products that need a claim we cannot substantiate.
  • Colour cosmetics, aerosols, sheet masks (exclusion list to confirm).
  • Formulas we did not make or cannot verify.

FAQ

Short answers.

Who is actually making my product?

Formology Lab, a contract manufacturer in Chatsworth, California with over 20 years of experience making skincare in the United States. First Run is their small-batch programme, built so a creator can start at 1,000 units instead of 10,000. Same lab, same chemists, same lines.

Do I own the formula?

On the Launch run, yes. It is yours after the development fee. On the First run you are using one of our bases adjusted to your brief; the adjustment is yours, the base stays ours.

Can I bring my own packaging?

Yes, if it arrives on time and fills on our lines. We will tell you at quote.

Where is it made?

At Formology Lab in Chatsworth, California, just outside Los Angeles. Not overseas. You can visit the floor and watch your batch run.

Is the facility FDA-registered?

Yes. Cosmetics under MoCRA and OTC drugs under 21 CFR 210/211. Legal to approve wording; never "FDA-approved".

How do I get a price?

The form below. Answer the same day.

Who is this for?

Creators and small brands launching a first product, and brands moving off a platform or a sticker onto something they own. If you are already at 10,000 units a run, you need the standard programme, not this page.

Tell us the product.

Ten minutes. A price, a timeline and a yes or no by the end of the business day.

Your brief goes straight to the Formology Lab team. No newsletter, no call queue.
